Position Information:
The Med Lab Scientist I performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizes requisite equipment instruments and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Updates knowledge skills and applies appropriately. Maintains age-specific and other required competencies. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory equipment and supplies. Assists in training new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and evaluates their work. Performs other duties as assigned. Works both independently and as part of a team with general supervision/periodic review by supervisory staff. Experience performing moderate complexity testing such as urine microscopy and post-vasectomy sperm count preferred.
Experience Requirements:
2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory Preferred
Education Required:
Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Required Bachelor's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
American Society for Clinical Pathology Or National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Or Equivalent Education Requirement
Hours of Work:
M-5 8am-5pm
Weekend Requirements:
No Weekends
