Position Information:
The Med Lab Scientist II performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and other procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.  Utilizes requisite equipment instruments and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods.  Updates knowledge skills and applies appropriately.  Maintains age-specific and other required competencies.  Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory equipment and supplies.  Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures instrumentation etc. May assume responsibility for one or more laboratory projects or functions - i.e. PI safety quality control regulatory administrative staff development computer (LIS HIS hospital intranet PC applications) etc. Trains new employees and/or students in the theoretical and operational aspects of procedures and evaluates their work.  Acts as a resource for less experienced co-workers.  Performs other duties as assigned.  Works both independently and as part of a team with general supervision/periodic review by supervisory staff.

Experience Requirements:
2 Years Clinical - Clinical Laboratory - Moderate and High Complexity Testing Preferred

Education Required:
Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Required - And Bachelor's Degree Clinical Laboratory Science Or Bachelor's Degree Medical Technology Preferred

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
And National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Required - Or Equivalent Education Requirement

Hours of Work:
every other Friday - Sunday 7:00pm - 7:00am

Weekend Requirements:
Every Other

Call Requirements:
as needed
