We are partnering with Portage College in Lac La Biche Alberta to provide a new and unique opportunity to get started into a Heavy Equipment Trade program focused around Material Handling Equipment and Forklifts.
This program will be sponsored in part by Wajax and will be available for remote online class participation. This makes it easier for you to continue working and do the classwork portion on your time schedule.
You will be expected to attend some classes onsite in Lac La Biche as well, and enter into a 4 year Apprenticeship with potential priority placement for successful students within Wajax Equipment during and after the program.
Interested applicants are required have graduated from High school in good standing at a minimum and have a strong mechanical aptitude. Other requirements include
* Successful completion of a physical demands test
* Completion of an applicant profile
* Successful completion of a mechanical aptitude test
* A face to face interview with representatives from both Wajax and Portage College.
As this is a new program and will be highly competitive not all candidates will be selected to complete all portions of the testing.
Successful candidates will have fundamental written and verbal communication skills, be proficient with computers including Microsoft office and be able to work effectively and independently through the online coursework. You must have excellent demonstrated mechanical aptitude, analysis and problem solving skills.
