The Organ Preservation Coordinator position is an entry level position designed to train and prepare a candidate to assist in the operating room during organ procurement, and package and preserve organs after the procurement. The Coordinator will also learn to allocate transplantable organs among local, regional, and national transplant centers by working with the United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS). When kidneys are designated for local use, the Coordinator will prepare and run the preservation pump used to keep the kidneys viable for transplant. The individual will be expected to sit for the Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP) exam after one (1) year.


Required: Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.  One year’s experience as a Surgical Tech or Operating Room Tech required as well as a valid Alabama driver’s license. Limited travel will be necessary.

Preferred: An Associate’s Degree in a health related field and/or experience in a hospital/medical/laboratory setting.


Required: Valid Alabama driver’s license.

Preferred: Certified Transplant Preservationist (CTP)
