Position Description:
Schedule: Monday-Friday Day Shift

Location: 502 Building

Responsible for ensuring the organization is in compliance with all regulatory requirements and accrediting standards including, but not limited to, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) (Hospital and OPO), Federal Drug Administration (FDA), Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN)/United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB), and Joint Commission. Collaborates with University Hospital to ensure that the LOH  Donor Recovery Center meets Hospital Conditions of Participation as outlined by CMS and Joint Commission accrediting standards. Performs internal and external audits as determined by the audit schedule.  Effectively communicates changes to the organization’s regulatory environment and works under the guidance of the Quality and Compliance Manager to ensure continuous regulatory compliance to all requirements and standards.  Maintains the audit schedule and ensures that the organization is continuously prepared for audits.  Maintains accreditation files and is current with all survey and resurvey cycles e.g., CMS (4 year), AATB (3 year), FDA (2 year), UNOS (2 year) etc.  Assists in reporting data to regulatory agencies on policy violations with appropriate approval.

Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

Required: Bachelor’s or professional degree, i.e., LPN, RN, PA, etc. Three years of quality assurance or quality control experience in a healthcare or related regulated industry.  

Preferred: Experience in quality assurance, quality control, and/or internal/external auditing.  Previous experience in an OPO or tissue bank.

LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:

Required:  N/A

Preferred: Certified Tissue Bank Specialist certification or North American Transplant Coordinators Organization Certification.  Certification from ASQ.
