The Oncology Nurse is responsible for provision and management of patient care in a clinical area for specific ages and patient populations. The Oncology Nurse delivers care to patients utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation. Effective interactions with patients, social supports, and other health team members will be evidenced while maintaining standards of professional nursing.
Required: Associate’s degree in Nursing and two (2) years of nursing experience required. BSN preferred. Work experience may not substitute for education requirement.
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
• Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing
• Current CPR certification or must be obtained within 30 days of employment
• OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) certification or BMTC (Bone Marrow Transplant) certification required or must be obtained within 18 mons of employment for locations other than Radiation Oncology areas.
