This classification uses the nursing process to coordinate the care of individuals in the promotion and maintenance of dialysis access. This systematic critical-thinking approach guides data gathering, assessment, nursing judgment, intervention and evaluation of human responses to actual and potential health problems through activities such as the provision of care supportive of creating and maintaining a functioning dialysis access. The RN is responsible for scheduling, coordinating and follow up in aspects of dialysis access care provided to patients, their families and our community in a timely and cost effective manner. Patient care is delivered in collaboration with patients, their families and all members of the health care team including the dialysis units and with the knowledge of a licensed physician. All responsibilities are carried out in accordance with the mission, vision, strategic imperatives and standards of UAB Medicine.
Position Requirements:
Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. At least three (3) years of relevant clinical nursing experience required
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION
Required: Current Alabama RN License
