The Clinical Informaticist III supports efforts and facilitates the achievement of UAB Medicine’s vision and strategy through the application of clinical informatics and methods. The Clinical Informaticist III positively influences health care delivery and patient care outcomes, promotes quality initiatives and makes efficient use of resources.
Acting as a liaison between HSIS, Ancillary Services, and the Health System, the Clinical Informaticist III is responsible for leading/coordinating assigned work effort in aspects of clinical systems planning, design, development, implementation, integration, training, ongoing support and evaluation, and applying clinical knowledge and skills to ensure clinical information systems usability. The Clinical Informaticist III serves as a coach to Clinical Informaticist Level Is & IIs as part of their ongoing professional development and performance improvement.
Position Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare/Informatics/Business field; 5 years of Informatics and 3 years of Healthcare experience.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Healthcare/Informatics/Business field, 7 years of Informatics and 5 years Healthcare experience
LICENSE, CERTIFICATION AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Required: If has an earned healthcare/clinical degree (i.e. RN, Radiology, etc.), will maintain current State of Alabama licensure commensurate with degree. Attainment of certification in an Informatics related healthcare field (i.e. Project Management, Quality, Informatics) within 1 year of assuming role.
Preferred: Current certification in an Informatics related healthcare field (i.e. Project Management, Quality, Informatics).
