Under direct supervision, provides basic skills in the performance of moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease within the scope of training and experience.

The successful candidate will perform in one of the following capacities:

MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Under direct supervision, provides basic skills in the performance of moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease within the scope of training and experience.

MEDICAL LABORATORY SCIENTIST
Under general supervision, provides advanced skills in the performance of moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease.

CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
Under direct supervision, provide basic skills in the performance of moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for purpose of diagnosis and treatment of disease within the scope of training.



MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Meet one of the following per CLIA regulations:
- Associate of Science Medical Laboratory Technician
- Education and training equivalent to an associate degree in laboratory science to include 24 semester hours of science courses that include (i) Six semester hours of chemistry; (ii) Six semester hours of biology; and (iii) Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination and at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.
- On or before 2/28/92 qualified or could have qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 laboratory regulations published March 14, 1990 (55 FR 9538)
- High school graduate or equivalent and qualified to perform high complexity testing prior to April 24, 1995.
- On or before April 24, 1995, with a high school diploma or equivalent and have successfully completed at least a 50 week official US military medical laboratory procedures course and have held the military enlisted occupational specialty of Medical laboratory Specialist (Laboratory
Technician).

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- No experience is required.

PREFERENCES:
- Relevant ASCP or equivalent certification

MINIMUM EDUCATION
Must meet one of the following per CLIA regulations:
• Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science
• Bachelor’s degree with 24 hours of science to include 6 hours of chemistry, six hours of biology and 12 hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology, with documentation of completion of studies from a NAACLS accredited Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or Clinical Laboratory Science program.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
No experience required.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

PREFERENCES:
Relevant A.S.C.P. certification

CLINICAL LABORATORY TECHNOLOGIST
MINIMUM EDUCATION

- Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, physical or biological science
- Bachelor’s degree that includes: 24 semester hours of science courses that include (i) Six semester hours of chemistry; (ii) Six semester hours of biology; and (iii) Twelve semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination and at least three months of documented laboratory training in each specialty in which the individual performs high complexity testing.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- No experience is required.

PREFERENCES:
- Relevant ASCP or equivalent certification.
