Position Description:

SRC, Inc. is currently seeking a Compass Call Mission System Subject Matter Expert (SME) and an Airborne Maintenance Technician (AMT) flight duty position on EC-130H and EC-37B aircrafts. Position will also support Prime Mission Equipment (PME) System developmental and flight test efforts; will be responsible for planning, developing, and administering aspects of a project through designated phases of the acquisition.

The selected candidate will work out of Waco, TX.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and evaluations of critical systems and components of the assigned Big Safari program’s PME to assure compliance with customer requirements.

  • Perform aircrew duties as an AMT to include executing various test criteria to evaluate and validate equipment operability.

  • Plans and perform flight and ground tests in laboratories and at test ranges.

  • Participate in review/evaluation of contractor technical data, statements of work (SOW) instructions, use/control of Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), acceptance test procedures, engineering design reviews, work orders, operator training materials, and Air Force publication verifications.

  • Review and directs the progress of contractors in meeting project objectives.

  • Take appropriate actions to approve terms and conditions set forth in negotiations, contracting plans and budgets, subcontractor participation and addition or discontinuance of work by the contractor.

  • Resolve controversial issues, advocate proposals and recommendations, and reports progress in resolving critical issues.

  • Consult Detachment and Program's leadership and contractor's managers to influence future policies and initiatives from a PME operator perspective.

  • Present status and information briefings to Detachment, program and contractor staff as required.

  • Review contract documents and logistical support to ensure that technical goals are achievable.

  • Provide recommendations to decrease cost, schedule, and technical risks.

  • Consult with Detachment's leadership and program managers to influence future policies and initiatives from a project engineer's perspective.

  • Provide expertise for the site-management, direction, and control of acquisition, modification, system test, training, and logistics support for special purpose EC-130H and EC-37B Compass Call aircraft, related training and other support equipment, directed Quick Reaction Capability, and other sensitive high-priority projects.

  • Oversee the progress and effort of contractor personnel at three separate prime contractor manufacturing and integration facilities.

  • Evaluate contractor performance and provide advice to Detachment's leadership and contractors regarding improvements.

  • Coordinate frequent project changes and engineering compromises to assess the resulting changes in other areas of the project.

  • Visit contractors' plant(s) to observe progress and ensure that contractor is meeting appropriate contractual provisions.

  • Organize teamwork efforts and may lead a team of specialists in resolving technical, schedule, and supportability issues to include leading Depot Field Teams.

  • Conduct and/or participate in meetings, design reviews, and working groups to address problems, technical developments, program changes, etc., and collectively prepares an approach to any policy changes.

  • Provides feedback to customers and keeps abreast of changing environments and potential shifts in emphasis or any other changes.

  • Brief higher levels of management on progress, problems, and other factors of interest.

 

Position Requirements:

  • Two years of specialized experience which involved knowledge of operating policies and procedures of both internal and external PME-related activities such as program management, contractors production engineering, workload planning, procurement, or supply and skill to coordinate PME development and integration plans and functions with these activities; knowledge of assigned aeronautical systems and equipment including critical PME characteristics, manufacturing methods, special processes, functional relationships among components and subsystems, and test and measurement techniques. 

  • Experience as qualified aircrew member

  • Class II FAA Flight Physical is required

  • Work requires frequent travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.

  • Crisis action management activities may involve additional and non-standard work hours.

  • Flight test and evaluation experience is required.

Security Clearance Requirements

An active Top Secret security clearance and current investigation are required.
