This position is responsible for managing sales and use tax reporting and planning. Advises management regarding effects of business activities on taxes and on strategies for minimizing tax liability.
Key Job Activities:
Manage state and local indirect tax compliance, audits and appeals.
Respond to complex tax related questions from facilities and customers.
Establish and implement Company sales and use tax policy that ensures appropriate and consistent tax treatment of multi-state transactions, products and services.
Adhere to new tax laws while communicating any necessary changes to management.
Evaluate and approve customer and product exemptions in tax software.
Perform tax accrual account analysis and reconciliations.
Oversee and prepare sales and use tax returns for several entities and for multiple states.
Oversee the customer exemption process as appropriate.
Provide periodic internal tax training.
Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or Tax, or the equivalent in related work experience.
Seven or more years of sales and use tax experience including Multi-state tax experience, or the equivalent in related work experience, and three or more years of tax management experience.
Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and Vertex Sales Tax a plus.
