Ensures all waste containers are unloaded from vehicles, that the vehicles are decontaminated, and waste is properly staged for weighing, scanning and processing. Ensures that all duties as assigned are performed in an efficient manner and in accordance with all applicable safety, environmental compliance, and Stericycle policies and procedures.
•Unload waste containers from incoming vehicles for incineration or transfer
•Load waste containers onto conveyor system for processing or properly stage waste containers for decanting and/or transfer.
•Weigh waste containers and scan barcodes into the SteriWorks system for proper recordkeeping purposes.
•Load waste into process bins or incinerator hopper(s) for processing.
•Place emptied reusable containers on reusable container wash line for decontamination.
•Operate reusable container wash unit to properly decontaminate reusable containers. Remove clean reusable containers, inspect for serviceability and compliance and stage for loading onto assigned vehicles for reuse.
•Operate vehicles, including but not limited to, on yard movement of trucks, tractors, trailers, and rolloffs. Operate hand trucks, pallet jacks, forklifts or similar equipment as part of unloading and loading vehicles for processing or transfer.
•Clean and decontaminate cargo area of vehicles as needed and ensure vehicle cargo areas are free of liquids on the floor. Load assigned reusable containers or other service supplies and properly secure load for transportation.
•Complete housekeeping assignments and assist in other areas of the plant operation as required or requested.
•High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
•One year related experience or training or combination of experience and training, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact.
•Demonstrates knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills.
•Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations.
•Demonstrates the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift.
