Position Description:
The Global Claims Director is responsible for overall management of the property and casualty insurance program including Workers Compensation, Auto Liability, General Liability, Property, Professional and Environmental claims. Responsible for claim trend identification and coordination of information between, Safety, Risk and Operations to drive improving performance in the claims portfolio.

Key Job Activities:
1) Oversight of and manage all claims related activities including accurate and timely claim reserve setting and granting settlement authority to the various claims adjusters and attorneys
• Create and monitor litigation log ensuring senior management has proper insight on significant matters
• Drive resolution of claims at mediations, arbitrations and trials
• Work with actuaries ensuring proper understanding of claims process improvements and success’s
• Perform in-person telephonic claim file reviews ensuring Stericycle claims best practices are followed
• Negotiate annual TPA contract and hold vendor accountable for execution of activities using claims performance guarantees
• Manage application and reporting to Work Comp State Funds
• Drive the light duty program in the field
2) Serve as a knowledge leader working with functional areas to identify and minimize claim costs and feeding critical information back to Safety and Operations to improve claims performance
3) Manage and drive optimal performance by the various claim vendors including adjusters, attorneys, managed care providers, nurses, surveillance to provide cost effective service ensuring world class performance and best outcomes driving lower claim costs
4) Assemble and manage a network of top tier outside counsel to drive optimal claim settlement outcomes and cost effective legal spend
5) Assist in management of insurance program administration including underwriting information assembly and analysis of claim trends
• Present claims data at underwriting meetings
• Develop relationships with insurance claim management and loss prevention
6) Actively support the M&A team reviewing potential acquisitions and onboarding new field personnel

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor degree
• 10 + years of claims management experience
• Deep knowledge of various Risk Information Management Systems
• International claims and insurance a plus
