Manages sales activities of an assigned Business Unit within the organization. Lead, inspire, and empower a team of sales executives in order to meet defined sales objectives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff.
•Makes every reasonable effort to select, train, and develop qualified, diverse workforce.
•Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance appraisals.
•Recommends salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and dismissals.
•Monitors operations and staff and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources.
•Counsels employees on educational and job opportunities, which will enhance their career development, and keeps staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments in the department and company by conducting periodic meetings.
•Administers all Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff, interprets, as necessary, and ensures compliance and safety.
•Monitors and ensures that employees are performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries.
•Monitors department work productivity, reports on trends, and recommends and implements changes to continually improve work productivity.
•Develops subordinate managers and/or supervisors, particularly in the management techniques of planning, organizing, leading and controlling through continue coaching and feedback on performance.
•Oversee and participate in identifying new business opportunities and build rapport with key customer contacts.
•Monitor and manage day-to-day sales activities within assigned area through effective communication and travel. Assigns sales territories to staff. Coordinates sales territories, quotas and goals, and communicates to Account Managers sales and marketing techniques.
•Meet and/or exceed defined business plan sales goals.
•Contribute strategically to the growth and market visibility of assigned business products and services.
•Analyzes sales statistic to formulate policy and to assist Account Managers in promoting sales.
•Review market analyses to determine customer needs, volume potential, price schedules, and discount rates. Develops sales campaigns to accommodate goals of the Company.
•Analyzes and controls expenditures of assigned business unit to conform to budgetary requirements.
•Prepares sales reports showing sales volume and potential sales forecasts.
Education and Experience:
•Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Sales/Marketing, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating the ability to sell and cultivate strong, long-lasting customer relationships with all levels of professionals within the organization.
•Seven or more years of experience in direct hospital or medical sales with multiple call points, demonstrating effective knowledge and use of solutions selling and complex sales process skills. Five or more years of experience in sales management required, demonstrating documented results of overachieving quotas.
