Position Description:
We are currently seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to maintain, repair and service all equipment used in the day-to-day operation of assigned facility in accordance with Stericycle policies, practices, and procedures. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Ensures high standards of safety are developed, met and maintained. • Repairs and replaces malfunctioning equipment • Arranges and coordinates the internal safety inspections with local fire department. Follows up on any deficiencies or recommendations. • Develops, implements, conducts and reviews site-specific preventative maintenance schedules and programs consistent with manufacturer’s recommendations. Includes fork trucks and heavy duty equipment. • Coordinates, arranges, and supervises or provides for the completion of corrective and preventative maintenance in accordance with the facility’s operating procedures, practices and financial considerations. • Repairs and performs maintenance to ensure the safe and operable condition of the facilities equipment and or furnishings. • Establishes procedures and contacts to ensure timely repairs of equipment requiring minor repairs on a frequent basis. • Participates in the annual budget preparation as it relates to maintenance of the Service Center, grounds, and equipment. • Attends and participates in training opportunities and seminars relevant to this position. • Assists contractors with repairs or developments. • Operates fork trucks and heavy duty equipment. • May perform brazing, cutting and welding (MIMG, ARC, TIG) of stainless steel, carbon steel or aluminum materials. • Performs other duties as required

Position Requirements:
• High school diploma and or vocational school training • RCRA, DOT, and OSHA General Awareness training completion DEMONSTRATED ESSENTIAL JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE: • 5 + or more years experience in the field of general repairs, plumbing, electrical, mechanical or vocational training and or related experience. DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • General knowledge of various types of equipment, such as pumps, motors, electrical panels, spinners, liquid pressure equipment. • Ability to braze, cut and weld MIG, ARC, TIG of stainless steel, carbon steel or aluminum materials. • Read, write, and comprehend English to complete required documentation. • Mechanical ability to operate and repair equipment accessories • Communication skills, both written and oral • Organization & multi-tasking skills • Attention to detail • Computer proficiency with the ability to utilize computerized tracking systems. • Ability to perform arithmetic calculations • Problem solving skills • Ability to anticipate and prepare for various events on own initiative • Customer service skills
