The Financial Analyst Sr. is responsible for creating the monthly financial forecast, the annual budget, specific project analysis and assisting with the annual Long Range Plan. The Financial Analyst Sr. will also conduct on-going and ad hoc analysis utilizing various systems and data sources to transform data points into meaningful information. They will be responsible for learning all business rules and apply those rules in the building of queries and reports. This role will also liaise with departmental contacts in order to formulate analysis for operational, financial, product pricing, budget, and customer data reporting and analysis. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Gathers, interprets, and feeds many data sets that derive the monthly forecast. Analyze the results, trends, and make suggestions for forecast changes. Track and explain changes from month to month, and assist in actual to forecast variance explanations. This person must: - Learn the rules, processes and drivers that affect billing, staffing, budgeting, financial reporting, and sales - Report on monthly activity and variances - Develop and maintain rolling forecasts for revenues and expenses - Interact with all levels of the organization to analyze and report on variances from budget/forecast and develop more effective budget/forecast processes - Affectively manipulate large sets of data Provides analysis for all areas of the company in support of the business needs. Performs other related duties as required or requested. This includes but is not limited to providing support to finance and / or other teams and special projects as needed. Education equivalent to Bachelor Degree in Accounting, or the equivalent in related work experience. CPA is a plus. Five or more years of accounting and data and/or financial analysis experience preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience. Demonstrates sound knowledge of various financial policies, procedures, reporting and systems. Demonstrates advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products, and financial software systems. SQL experience is a plus. Adept at learning new technical skills and software quickly. Must be able to travel up to 10% of time including overnight travel. Travel varies in frequency and duration and may require weekend travel. Must be able to pay out of pocket for travel expenses, and submit for reimbursement.
