We are currently seeking a Laboratory Manager for the duties and responsibilities listed. • Supervises staff including, performance management, and training and development in accordance with company policies, practices and procedures. • Manages Laboratory expenses including staffing and ordering and budgeting of supplies in accordance with budget goals. • As a working manager, receives waste chemical samples, logging information, analytical testing, and following safe laboratory practices. • As a working manager, performs analytical testing such as ; Ph, Flashpoint, TOC, TN, Cyanide distillation, Phenols, BTU's, Chlorides, Sulfur, calculating percent acid and alkalinity, Total solids, and total suspended solids. • Oversees and /or performs testing on specialized equipment such as the Trace G/C for volatiles and PCB's, metals on the ICP. • Works with sales on approval of samples for new clients. • Regularly meets with clients and regulatory agents. • Certifies all results including TCLP analysis, results for each WAP sheet, and monthly DMR to HTMA • Training chemists of methods and safety practices. • Negotiating prices/cost on monthly supplies • Performs other duties as required.
EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS: • Four year college degree in chemistry • OSHA safety training JOB RELATED EXPERIENCE: • 2-4 years laboratory experience • Manager, Supervisors and Advanced chemists that are required to run instruments - 2-4 years experience in a laboratory setting. DEMONSTRATED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: • Trained in all applicable State and Federal regulations for analytical testing. • Able to meet required deadlines as directed by their supervisor, waste analysis testing is multi faceted testing which required good working ability and multi tasking. • Ability to communicate well with peers, delegate responsibility to others. • Strong working knowledge of chemical characteristics and understand their components.
