This position on the Continuous Improvement Team is responsible for measuring, designing, implementing, training and deploying business operating plans within assigned Regions, Districts and Locations. Improvement initiatives as assigned and dictated by business need. Determining future plans will assist in improving execution of our service offering while using compliance and performance metrics to model and improve operational efficiencies. Will assist in implementation of future plans at the facility/district while making any corrective actions to improve overall plan and meet customer needs. All plans should align to True North (Customer 1st, Growth and Productivity, Employee Development, and Safety). Drive productivity and efficiency within a region or district. Works closely with all levels of Stericycle personal. Supports and maintains Customer 1st Culture throughout all Stericycle Departments. Works proactively with Stericycle team members, as well as all other functional operations (Plant, Sharps Management, Specialty Waste, etc.) to meet all customers’ expectations. Maintains optimum utilization of resources including, but not limited to, methods, procedures, structure, equipment, and personnel. Leads cross-functional teams to create and deploy Master Operating Plans: This includes Facility and Transportation planning procedures, and process improvements. Particapate in meetings/calls with facilities to discuss what if scenarios, future plans, standards and any other topic to improve performance to plan. Use feedback to improve overall plan. Anaylze highly complex production processes and partner with key business stakeholders to identify opportunities, present ideas, and make recommendations based upon analysis to further business goals working with Facility Managers, Plant Managers,Transportation Operation Teams to implement new plans and Standards and on a monthly basis monitor and when necessary develop action plans to address performance deficiencies. Improve branch productivity by determining optimal fleet size, headcount needs and territory assignments. Team Member Coaching: Must have strong organizational, interpersonal and follow-up skills. Must be an analytical thinker and customer service focused. Ability to communicate and present complex solutions at all levels of the organization. Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, Local regulations and Company policies and procedures, communicates issues and updates to Transportation Team.Monitors and ensures that Team Members are performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations to prevent accidents or Hours of Service issues
Business or project management experience required, demonstrating the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast paced environment. Education equivalent to College Degree in Business, Engineering, Logistics, or other related field, or equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong organizational and change management skills. LEAN or Process Improvement Implementation experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience. Bachelor’s degree in a Transportation or Logistics related field a plus. Three or more years of progressive waste or equivalent industry experience in a routing capacity. Past experience utilizing Roadnet Logistics Suite/Descartes or equivalent routing software preferred. Demonstrates knowledge and the ability to stay abreast of applicable regulations and codes, as they apply to the waste industry and those specific to area of responsibility. Demonstrates sound knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Must be able to input, monitor and manipulate data within these applications. Must have routing capability and/or direct past experience in logistics.
