This position will perform various support activities in the Laboratory in accordance with all applicable regulations and Environmental Solutions policies, practices, and procedures. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Conducts tests for which qualified which may include heat of combustion, % halogen, moisture, pH specific gravity, flash point, fuel compatibility, % acide, oxidizer spot, etc. • Complete technical review and sign off of all inbound waste shipping documents including manifests, bill of lading,LDR’s, etc. • Standarizes claibrates and cleans all assigned analytical equipment. • Prepares and maintains all applicable documentation including instrument calibration and maintenance logs, and daily production log. • Logs in lab samples as necessary. • Performs quality control testing on all assigned test methods. • Performs standard preventative maintenance on assigned lab instruments. • Performs periodic lab waste disposal as assigned. • Generates and prints appropriate documents via waste mangement software (WMS/PREVIEW) • Oversees sample collection and waste received data. • Collects samples according to permit requirements. • Assists with entering into waste management software (WMS/Preview) all quantities and volumes received (as noted on the shipping document) • Assists with QA/QC analytical screening parameters as dictated by our NYSDEC Part 373 permit. • Enters analytical results into waste management software (WMS/Preview). • Verifies quantities & storages locations of all waste received. • Generates and maintains reports such as waste inverntories as required by permits. • Performs other duties as assigned.
• 2 – 4 years experience in lab environment • 40 hour OSHA Training with 8 hour refresher course • Associate’s degree in related field • Must have a working knowledge of standard laboratory procedures and the ability to learn the procedures and polices of this company. • Working knowledge of waste management rules, regulations, etc • Knowledge of all EPA and state requirements for laboratory testing. • Working knowledge of hazardous waste processing and regulations.
