This position oversees the daily activities of TSDF staff as well as supports all state and federal regulations as they pertain to the TSDF Part B permit. This role acts as the front line manager enforcing safety and compliance on the TSDF (Transfer Site/ Distribution Facility) floor.

Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff:
Makes every reasonable effort to select, train, and develop qualified, diverse workforce.
Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives; conducts performance appraisals.
Recommends salary adjustments, promotions, transfers and dismissals.
Monitors operations and staff and recommends, when necessary, changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions or changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources.
Counsels team members on educational and job opportunities, which will enhance their career development, and keeps staff informed of current problems, changes, and new developments in the department and company by conducting periodic meetings.
Administers all Company policies and procedures, communicates to staff, interprets, as necessary, and ensures compliance and safety.
Monitors and ensures that team members are performing their functions safely and productively. Makes recommendations for changes or improvement, when necessary, in order to prevent accident or injuries.
Monitors department work productivity, reports on trends, and recommends and implements changes to continually improve work productivity.
Develops subordinate managers and/or supervisors, if applicable, particularly in the management techniques of planning, organizing, leading and controlling through continue coaching and feedback on performance.
Conducts facility operations in compliance with TSDF permits. Supervise facility team members in accordance with Safety Policy, enforcing best safety practices.
Supervise and manage all waste inventories, schedule outbound loads for disposal. Work with materials management for best cost outlets. Develop waste minimization plans, inventory reduction plans and assign team members daily.
Assigns & supervises all daily production schedules. Track & monitor daily through put of facility, establish goals for each production team, establish KPI, seek continuous improvement goals.
Generates and submits operation records and reports. Daily inspections, work orders, and safety analysis. Supports EH&S on all incentives and policies.
Establishes daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with staff and documents.
Maintains & orders TSDF supplies, safety, containers and reagents.
Other duties as assigned or requested.
Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in the science related field preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong working knowledge of environmental and regulatory rules and requirements.
Two or more years experience in the supervision of hazardous waste activities or supervision / technical training in applicable fields.
Must possess knowledge of chemical and physical properties of wastes, materials managed and of process and equipment as well as the ability to manage those processes.
Demonstrate working knowledge of hazardous waste processing and regulations.
Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
