We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor to ensure that the directives of the company and facility manager are followed with regards to establishing, monitoring, and maintaining process productivity and efficiencies on each of the operating shift at the in-cinerator plant. Monitors and ensures that regulatory and safety compliance polices are strictly adhered to. Fosters a One Team, One Goal production culture. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Ensure the incinerator employees and shift leads maintain productivity standards in all phases of their operations. Review shift productivity to identify maximum efficiencies and operational opportunities. Manages all Incineration personnel and insure they perform their tasks safely while utilizing all PPE and other safety equipment at all times. Manages and maintains regulatory compliance within the plant and plant yard. Maintain orders incinerator processing supplies consisting of PPE, uniforms, cleaning material, processing chemicals, etc., to ensure that adequate inventories are always available. Initiate actions to assure timely resolution of identified hazards or unsafe conditions or practices. Responsible for the hiring, training and development of Incineration personnel. This also includes insuring that all monthly and other required employee training, including safety and compliance training is maintained and up to date. Manages and maintains a high standard of operational excellence in order to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction, either internally or externally. Coordinate customer needs by adhering to a defined processing schedule. Interface proactively with personnel to achieve business goals. Performs facility audits, review of all applicable regulatory paperwork, e.g., Title V or other permit or company specific records, etc.). Manages and monitors daily performance of incinerator employees, directly or within guidance, providing feedback (including growth opportunities). Influence hiring and firing decisions and disciplinary procedures. Assist in resolving plant problems and issues between sales, drivers, and plant/maintenance team. Works with Facility Manager to ensure budget compliance for the operation of the plant process. Coordinates with maintenance concerning shutdown scheduling and maintenance needs. Works directly with the Facility Manager and the Maintenance Manager to identify opportunities for operational improvements as well as identifying short term and long-term opportunities. Vigorously supports Stericycle’s commitment to safety, compliance, corporate cultural initiatives, and supports all policies and procedures as established within the policies and procedures manual. Working with incineration shift leads, manages and schedules employee vacation and backfills as needed. Performs other related duties as required or requested.

Position Requirements:
Education equivalent to graduation from High school, or has attained GED. Two or more years of related experience or training, or combination of experience and training, demonstrating strong communication skills and tact in providing superior service in a variety of settings and situations. Two or more years of industry related experience as a supervisor or the equivalent in related work experience (management). Must be flexible, goal orientated, results driven, focused, and have the ability to meet goals and deadlines on a consistent basis. Demonstrates knowledge of barcode scanning and basic computer skills. Demonstrates knowledge of Lockout/Tag Out and confined space entry principles to insure compliance and safety of Incineration, maintenance, and contractor Personnel. Preferred experience with incinerators or similar high temperature process equipment/systems operation, including pollution control equipment and systems, Baghouse, wet scrubber, acid absorber, and carbon beds. Demonstrates knowledge of boiler operation, including boiler chemical usage, DA tank, Boiler Feed Water Pumps, and other aspects of boiler operation. Experience with steam turbine and generator operation would be a plus. Must have experience with managing the use of forklifts, Demonstrates knowledge of computer software applications including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Demonstrates knowledge of Hazardous Materials and OSHA Regulations. Demonstrates the ability to operate a powered industrial truck, e.g., forklift. Roll-off truck, and yard dog. Must possess ability to operate company non-commercial vehicle. Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. Must be able to tolerate extreme heat and cold. Temperatures above 100 degrees F for periods of more than one hour. (South and Southeastern part of the country). Temperatures below 32 degrees F for period of more than one hour. (North and Northeast part of the country). Must be able to work any scheduled shift during a 24-hour work day; 7 days per week, as needed, to monitor, train, address issues, or cover specific shift. Must be able to travel. Travel varies in frequency and duration.
