Position Description:

Social Media

  • Manage and execute the North American social media organic and paid strategy for the Shred-it and Stericycle Healthcare Compliance Solutions business units, including content calendar development, paid media planning and management, community management and campaign support.
  • Lead the creation and distribution of timely, relevant and engaging social media content to support business objectives.
  • Manage online reputation: ensure all web and social media applications are monitored to identify any issues and/or criticism of the company’s brand or services and to document and resolve the issue in a timely, accurate and professional manner.
  • Ensure proper usage of our brand via our social channels as well as others using our brand is in keeping with the brand strategy in place.
  • Effectively monitor our channels ‘real-time’ as well as assisting with measurement and tracking the impact of social media as it relates to program goals.
  • Build campaign reports that show how social media GTM campaigns are performing, in a way that is meaningful to the marketing team and share with Social Media Lead and Management as required.
  • Manage and track paid media campaign budgets and monthly invoices (with support of Social Lead) to ensure alignment with overall budget.
  • Provide social media support and counsel to internal stakeholders as needed.


  • Develop calendar of weekly blog topics in alignment with marketing and communications priorities, and seasonal relevance.
  • Manage relationship with blog content writer and manage blog development to ensure timely completion.
  • Publish blog within website CMS on a weekly basis.
  • Regularly review and analyze key blog metrics to gauge success and identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborate with other internal teams, like marketing, sales and CE to ensure brand reputation and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain sound working relationships with vendors. Ensure projects are managed appropriately and funds are spent wisely. Drive process and efficiency improvements in all ongoing initiatives.
  • Ensure high quality, timely roll out of social programs through effective collaboration.

Position Requirements:

Education, Experience & Key Competencies required (including certifications and/or software requirements for the position): 

Bachelor's or college degree in a marketing discipline or equivalent work experience.

3+ years experience in a marketing role, preferably in a B2B services environment

Must have a strong understanding of online marketing and social networking.

Demonstrated social media knowledge, including advanced experience with social media campaign development, monitoring, analysis and reporting across Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and YouTube.

Budgetary experience, including the ability to track expenses against projections.

Experience working collaboratively to develop strategic plans and KPIs. 

Experience using a Content Management System. Familiarity with Kentico CMS an asset.

Experience managing and working with external agencies, consultants and vendors.

Proficient in program or project management with effective time and priority management skills; ability to work independently, and manage multiple projects.

Strong computer skills are required, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Advanced knowledge of HootSuite social media management tool. Knowledge of HootSuite Enterprise an asset.

Advanced knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter advertising platforms, as well as analytics platforms including Facebook Insights, Twitter analytics, LinkedIn Company Page Analytics and Google Analytics. Knowledge of HootSuite reporting an asset.

Knowledge of basic Adobe Suite functions, particularly Adobe InDesign and Photoshop.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
