We are currently seeking a Lab Pack Approvals Specialist to provide service to our broker and self-pack customers on a daily basis by evaluating incoming waste (lab packs) for approval into Stericycle-owned Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs). Ensure material meets RCRA, DOT and facility criteria for safety and compliance. • Lab pack reviews for acceptance into TSDF's. • Lab pack estimates / quotes based on inventories. Work with sales to develop a strategy for winning work. • Preparing lab pack paperwork for field teams to utilize while in the field. • Conduct internal audits of Stericycle packed lab packs. • Contribute to updating training material as needed. • Contribute to chemical database updates as needed. • Manage call requests from field members, customer service and sales related to compound compatibility, packing requirements, etc. • Other duties as assigned or requested.
• Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology or Business preferred, or the equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating strong working knowledge of environmental and regulatory rules and requirements. • Three or more years of industry related experience in lab packing and segregating pharmaceutical waste, or the equivalent in related work experience – demonstrating the ability to properly classify controlled substances by DEA guidelines. • Chemistry background preferred. • Demonstrates strong knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations. • Demonstrates strong knowledge of state waste regulations. • Demonstrates general knowledge and understanding of available waste treatment technologies.
