We are currently seeking a Payroll Supervisor to oversee the day to day payroll staff activities, acts as subject matter payroll expert while performing all required analytical statistical duties necessary to prepare, process and audit payrolls for all domestic and Puerto Rico based team members. As well as maintenance, processing and auditing of time and attendance system (etime).
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff.
Investigates questionable data and takes corrective action, when necessary. Assists team members in resolving their payroll related questions or problems. Keep Payroll Manager informed of all pending unresolved issues. Works with HRIS to update and correct data as necessary.
Oversees day-to-day payroll and time/attendance activities. Tasks include but are not limited to:
• Oversees the distribution of paychecks, direct deposits, manual checks and paycard information.
• Validates or inputs deduction or earnings loads. Performs key entry, when necessary.
• Verification of all accruals, manual adjustments activities
• Review/Audit error reports and weekly payroll submissions, updating/correcting, as necessary
• Ensure payrolls are processed accurately and timely as required by corporate guidelines and Federal and State regulatory requirements.
• Works with vendors to ensure all Federal and State reporting is completed in an accurate and timely manner
• Works with payroll staff to ensure garnishment accuracy
• Works with vendors to ensure deductions and earnings accuracy
• Validates commission, stock options and bonus load processes.
Oversees the creation, manipulates, sorts and distributes various payroll reports to management on a regular basis.
Works collaboratively with the Payroll Systems Project Manager to establish procedures and documentation required for standardization and efficiencies.
Regularly audits the data components to ensure data integrity. Investigates questionable data. Works with Internal Audit and Corporate Finance as directed by the Payroll Director.
Works collaboratively with the Payroll Systems Project Manager in all payroll system testing and table set ups as it relates to upgrades/enhancements to the Payroll system. Creates and provides test cases and test plans, ensuring accurate testing before implementation.
Responsible for coordinate of quarterly and year end activities in conjunction with Payroll Manager and Payroll Accountant.
Review and provide team member support for e-Time and Field Force Manager.
Performs other related duties as required or requested.
Education equivalent to Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or equivalent in related work experience, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of HR and Payroll applications and online systems.
Five or more years of payroll systems experience, or experience in related work experience, demonstrating the ability to plan and direct the work of others, and the ability to work with people in the way that builds effective teams committed to organizational goals.
Demonstrates significant knowledge of one or more HRIS/Payroll systems, preferably ADP or PeopleSoft.
Demonstrates thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Attainment of Certified Payroll Practitioner preferred but not required.
Demonstrates the ability to develop simple to complex ad hoc reports in order to meet various levels of customer needs.
Demonstrates the ability to work with the Project Manager with the development of SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) in relations to Payroll, HRIS and Financial practices and procedures.
