Responsible for all financial and management accounting activities of the business unit including monitoring the financial performance of specific business units/programs.  Provides comprehensive analysis and calculates financial measures of performance.

Specific Accountabilities:

> Coordinates the day-to-day financial operations within the business unit including the administration and monitoring of company financial policies.
> Responsible for meeting the financial reporting requirements of the business unit which include labor productivity analysis, measures of performance, month-end and related journal entries, margin analysis, expense reviews and profit planning.
> Develops budget and expense projections.  Provides financial analysis of capital acquisitions.
> Assists the bid/proposal presentation process using financial models to access the profitability of new contracts along with potential impact on current results.
> Monitors, maintains and reviews financial records and general ledgers.
> Reviews and monitors contract program objectives and the effective utilization of the business unit funds.  Recommends changes in financial resource allocations.
> Monitors the computerized financial reporting and accounting system.  Prepares and coordinates the preparation of financial statements, estimates, summaries and other financial analysis and management reports.
> Prepares all expenditure authorizations and monitors capital project spending.
> Liaises with company credit department and corporate lawyers with respect to business unit specific issues.
> Exercises authority in hiring, training, career development, performance appraisals, salary adjustments, promotion, discipline, health, safety and the general employee relations of direct reports.
> Actively participates in the appropriate management team(s), assisting with the development and realization of strategic plans, budgets, goals and outcomes.
> Carries out special projects as assigned.

> Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
> Thorough knowledge of FAR, US Government Accounting Policies and CAS disclosure statements.
> Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook); Oracle experience a plus.
> Working knowledge of integrated financial systems.
> Strong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, interpersonal, decision making, oral and written communication skills.
> University degree in business administration, commerce, economics, or a related field; or equivalent.
> Recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA or CFM); or equivalent.
> Several years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activity.
> Must be authorized to work in the US.
