StandardAero Configuration Control department manages site information, instructions and records in support of the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul of flight gas turbine engines. The Configuration Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining and managing electronic and paper manuals, processing new and updated ISO Documents and updating electronic control systems within our internally developed SA menu application suite (Production Management System).  The configuration control specialist works with quality, engineering, operations and other business units to effectively manage communication between the customer and the shop technicians. The Configuration Control Specialist plays an integral role in deployment of company processes, management of document reviews, and the occasional training of business unit staff as part of policy deployment.

Specific Accountabilities:

> Receives and logs technical documents and regulatory publications in database and performs initial review against applicable overhaul manuals, service bulletins, parts lists, Bill of Materials (BOM), BOM-Cross reference, alternate part master file, and Unit Build Standards (UBS); coordinates second review of technical documents with engineering staff.
> Coordinates manual reviews, completion of transmittals and various other business unit documentation as required.
> Controls and distributes approved ISO documents in the database and distributes approved documentation to applicable network location, and archives prior versions.  
> Maintains central filing system for technical documentation within the business unit.
> Provides applicable Measures of Performance (MOPs) related to technical configuration documentation to the Director, Engineering (SBU) and/or the Director, Quality Improvement (SBU).
> Originates changes to bill of materials (BOM) and unit build standards (UBS).
> Maintains central filing system for technical documentation within the business unit.
> Compiles and maintains engineering reports.
> Meets with Configuration Control Specialists from other business units to facilitate and develop a consistent corporate vision of configuration control.
> Liaises with other technical libraries to acquire technical data on behalf of engineers and liaises with original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) as required.
> Coordinates the procurement of books, periodicals and subscriptions for the Technical Data Services department and/or the business units.
> Provides training and guidance to business unit staff regarding all areas of technical documentation.
> Maintains and distributes documentation system training packages for the business unit.
> Carries out special projects as assigned.



> Strong computer skills, including a comprehensive knowledge of Outlook, MS Word, Access and Excel/APEX. Knowledge of basic computer programming & other computer skills beneficial to the position, though not required.
> Sound organizational, analytical, decision-making, leadership, interpersonal, planning, oral and written communication skills.
> Thorough knowledge of records management and documentation control.
> Experience in library administration/electronic and paper records management and/or a technical role associated with technical documentation a plus.
> College or technical diploma in a field of engineering technology; or an equivalent of one or more years of experience in a role associated with technical documentation control or Documentation Configuration Management.
> Must be authorized to work in the US.
