StandardAero Process Engineers focus on key industrial processes to support our organization’s ability to maintain, repair and overhaul (MRO) gas turbine engines used in flight applications. A Process Engineer’s role focuses on supporting existing production processes, developing new repairs operations using the supported processes, and the procurement and commissioning of new process equipment.

StandardAero San Antonio has many processes, and the engineer would join an existing team where capability exists. An ideal candidate would bring strengths in one or more of the following processes as it relates to aviation MRO:

Welding, Thermal Spray, CNC Programming, Machining, Grinding, Balancing, Diffusion Bonding, Metallurgical Analysis

Specific Tasks and Accountabilities:
> Oversees the planning, design, engineering, procurement, cost, scheduling, construction, commissioning and troubleshooting activities of equipment related to supported processes.
> Industrializes component repairs, often based on OEM book repairs. Occasionally develops new minor repairs in line with FAA part 145 repair station requirements, or equivalent internal policy for military customers.  
> Analyzes, develops and recommends methods to meet production requirements, improve economy and quality, and reduce turn-around-times for products and/or processes with supporting cost analysis.
> Supports up to 3 shift operation, providing off hour support when required to hit project timelines, or support process troubleshooting restricting ability to deliver customer product.
> Generates and maintains Shop Orders, Work Instructions, Temporary Overhaul Data Revisions, and other Documents used to convey process instructions to the shop technicians.  
> Participates on enterprise level process committees and supports company global standardization.
> Originates, revises & interprets technical drawings.
> Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
> Monitors existing production to ensure that quality and engineering standards are met and implements Statistical Process Controls over processes as required to ensure quality.
> Provides technical and financial data for preparation of project justification and cost benefit analysis.
> Reviews, evaluates and approves contracts for work to be performed by consultants and outside contractors; monitors budgets, approves plans and designs and resolves problems as they arise.
> Responsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.
> Carries out special duties as assigned.



> Knowledge of gas turbine engine maintenance, theory, and performance.
> Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes (i.e.
> Welding, Thermal Spray, CNC Programming, Machining, Grinding, Balancing, Diffusion Bonding, Metallurgical Analysis
> Ability to read and interpret engine manual repair instructions, inspection criteria, and part blue prints.
> Strong technical writing skills, interpersonal communication skills, and proficient computer skills are a must.
> Knowledge and experience in the following is preferred:
> Failure Modes and Effects Analysis,
> Measurement Systems Analysis,
> Design of Experiments,
> Familiarity with US Government and/or Commercial Maintenance Manuals,
> Understanding of FAA regulatory requirements covered in, at a minimum, 14 CFR Parts 43, 121, 129 and 145.
> Working knowledge of precision measurement instruments and gauges.
> University degree in mechanical engineering; or equivalent.
> Experience in an aerospace or manufacturing, repair and/or overhaul environment.
> Must be authorized to work in the US.
