At Santee Cooper, Electrical Line Workers install, maintain and repair power lines and equipment in difficult weather conditions and all hours of the day or night.
This is a scholarship to attend the Electrical Line Worker program at Trident Technical College, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College or York Technical College. Students will attend the program full time and will be exposed to the technical curriculum and manual training necessary for success.Participants of this program attend school full time, Monday - Thursday each week and work with a Line Crew every Friday. Participants are only paid for days worked at a rate of $15 per hour.This is a sixteen week program and will start in August 2025.
Program Benefits: Earn a Electrical Line Worker 3rd Class Certificate in Applied Science.Gain hands-on experience while working with a line crew every Friday.Books, Tuition and supplies are covered by Santee Cooper.Graduates receive preferential consideration for full-time employment at Santee Cooper.
Must be 18 years of age and be a High School Graduate by May 2025.Must be comfortable working at considerable heights and be physically fit. Must possess a valid driver's license.Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and background check.
