  • To provide technical services to the Distribution Metering Systems group. To assist with technical services for the AMI Head End System (Command Center) and the Meter Data Management System (MSCS). To assist with maintaining the integrity of the RF Mesh by ensuring firmware is upgraded for meters and network devices, by facilitating improvements through the addition and removal of network devices, and by actively monitoring and troubleshooting the performance of network devices such as routers, collectors, and IWRs.

  • Essential Job Tasks:
  • Provides support for AMI Metering Systems, including the RF Mesh Network and Head-End System(Command Center).
  • Assumes various Command Center and RadioShop daily tasks, like checking “Lost” and “Not Logging” meters, resetting meters stuck in various statuses beyond “normal”, clearing tamper alerts and addressing errors in the log viewer, along with many others.
  • Assists new Command Center users by providing general training on the application.
  • Actively monitors the performance of RF Mesh network devices in Command Center to ensure the network health and mesh integrity are maintained.
  • Assists in determining changes required to optimize the performance of the mesh network.
  • Assists with the commissioning and configuration of collectors/gateways
  • Coordinates with vendor(s) to troubleshoot and repair issues with RF Mesh network devices such as collectors/gateways, routers, IWRs, and meters.
  • Assists with maintaining inventory records for RF Mesh devices such as collectors/gateways, routers, and IWRs.
  • Coordinates with the Distribution SCADA department to troubleshoot, repair, and test issues related to communication with Capacitor Bank IWRs.

  • Engineering Technician A
  • High School Diploma/or GED + 8 years experience, or Associate's Degree + 6 years experience or Bachelor's Degree + 4 year experience.

  • Compensation Information:
    $32.00 - $40.00 (min. - mid.)

    Engineering Technician B
  • High School Diploma/or GED + 5 years experience, or Associate's Degree + 3 years experience or Bachelor's Degree + 1 year experience.

  • Compensation Information:
    $25.95 - $32.40 (min. - mid.)

    Engineering Technician C
  • High School Diploma/or GED + 2 years experience, or Associate's Degree.

  • Compensation Information:
    $21.10 - $26.35 (min. - mid.)
