The primary responsibility of an Engineering Intern in Engineering Line Design is to assist with providing engineering and technical support by preparing engineering calculations, drafting, and procurement packages used to support all aspects of overhead transmission line design (69kV to 230kV) from routing through construction. Core disciplines include environmental/waterresources, geotechnical, and structural. Successful candidate will be responsible for learning, understanding, and implementing Transmission Line Design standards to support Santee Cooper’s capital investment and capital maintenance programs. Attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills will be critical for completing design tasks.
The qualified candidate must:
have the ability to follow instructions
have general knowledge of computers
In addition the candidate must:
Have completed their first year at a 4-year college or 2-year college (transfer program).
Be pursuing a degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering at an EAC/ABET accredited school.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Successfully undergo pre-employment physical and drug screen.
This position is for a Summer Internship at our headquarters located slightly west of Charleston in the city of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This internship begins May 20, 2024. Candidate will work 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks.

Salary Range
Rising Sophomore $23.00 per hour
Rising Junior $24.00 per hour
Rising Senior $25.00 per hour
