The primary responsibility of a Civil Engineering Intern in General Construction Services is to complete field work necessary to update database of Santee River floodplain residences.
Additional Responsibilities
Use ArcGIS to update and complete evacuation maps for floodplain counties.
Complete survey level loops over a short distance to verify residence elevations.
Assist General Construction Services staff with dam safety exercise planning and execution.
Assist department personnel with office tasks and field work on other projects as assigned.
The qualified candidate must:
have the ability to follow instructions
have general knowledge of computers (CAD preferred)
be able to read engineering drawings and maps (preferred)
In addition the candidate must:
Have completed their first year at a 4-year college or 2-year college (transfer program).
Be pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering at an EAC/ABET accredited school.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Successfully undergo pre-employment physical and drug screen.
This position is for a Summer Internship at our headquarters located slightly west of Charleston in the city of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This internship begins May 20, 2024. Candidate will work 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks.

Salary Range
Rising Sophomore $23.00 per hour
Rising Junior $24.00 per hour
Rising Senior $25.00 per hour
