The primary responsibility of an Engineering Intern in Capital Projects is to provide engineering and construction management assistance and support with small to medium scale construction projects at electrical generation stations, water systems and other Santee Cooper asset sites. This position acts primarily in a supportive role to higher career level engineers and project management positions. Individual shall develop their knowledge of project construction, scheduling and understanding of plant equipment, processes and systems.
The qualified candidate must have:
good communication skills
ability to work in office and field environments under all weather conditions
ability to follow instructions
general knowledge of computers
In addition the candidate must:
Have completed their first year at a 4-year college or 2-year college (transfer program).
Be pursuing a degree in Electrical, Chemical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering at an EAC/ABET accredited school.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Successfully undergo pre-employment physical and drug screen.
This position is for a Summer Internship at our headquarters located slightly west of Charleston in the city of Moncks Corner, South Carolina. This internship begins May 20, 2024. Candidate will work 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks.

Salary Range
Rising Sophomore $23.00 per hour
Rising Junior $24.00 per hour
Rising Senior $25.00 per hour
