This position is responsible for the preparation of Santee Cooper’s Integrated Resource Plan and the analysis of the risk/cost associated with each of the Plan’s solutions. Using advanced financial, engineering and economic principals, this position develops, analyzes, and prepares resource plan output, financial and other reports. The position is responsible for developing and maintaining sophisticated long-term resource planning model software. This includes the implementation and testing of software updates and new software modules. It is important for the person in this position to work well within the department, across all departments throughout the organization as well as with external stakeholders. This position is expected to provide guidance and assign tasks to others. Must be able to analyze and solve complex problems independently, effectively communicating difficult or sensitive information to various levels of management. In addition to strong analytical abilities the ideal person in this position will demonstrate strong interpersonal and leadership skills, demonstrating succession potential.
Essential Job Tasks: Responsible for the timely development and analysis of resource planning studies which contain projections produced with information received from stakeholders throughout the company.Facilitates ensuring all inputs and calculations use the most appropriate treatment of both current and projected business events, that the information aligns with the overall resource planning assumptions, and that the information received is used in the model as intended.Updates the resource planning models to simulate changes in current and projected business events or practices. Implements and tests new software updates and modules. Stays up to date and communicating to management on neighboring utilities (especially those in South Carolina) IRP filings and the PSC responses to these filings.Continues to expand knowledge related to industry IRP trends and new software options.Coordinates and works with consultants to prepare IRP related information.Participates in meetings and reviews IRP documents for accuracy. Prepares Board, management and other presentations as needed.Performs special projects/analysis as assigned with minimal supervision. These projects can be unplanned and generally originate from senior management, the Board, or consultants and often have urgent deadlines.

Will consider an Engineer III, II or I
Engineer III Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school/university + 5 years experience. EIT/FE certification required.
Compensation Information: $84,280 - $105,350 (min. - mid.)
Engineer II Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school/university + 2 years experience. EIT/FE certification preferred.
Compensation Information: $75,600 - $94,490 (min. - mid.)
Engineer I Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited school/university.EIT/FE certification preferred.
Compensation Information: $67,800 - $84,740 (min. - mid.)
