  • Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of the enterprise database environments.
  • Resolves database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
  • Must have a working knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of relational and non-relational database administration and other related areas.
  • Collaborates with more experienced DBA's and leverage their judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Performs a variety of involved tasks.
  • May assist with and provide oversight of the work of others.
  • A certain degree of creativity, initiative, risk taking, and latitude is required.


  • Essential Job Tasks:
  • Administers, maintains, develops, and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the availability, security, and integrity of the enterprise database environments.

  • Implements, maintains, and automates the appropriate backup and recovery policies, procedures and architecture required to recover the enterprise database environments in accordance with the business continuity requirements.

  • Maintains schema objects and data access privileges.
  • Monitors, optimizes, and allocates physical data storage on RDBMS environment.

  • Performs database software installation and upgrades.

  • Performs security patching.

  • Performs process documentation and updating.

  • Participates on project teams as the DBA SME ensuring database standards are adhered to in support of the organization's web based and client/server software applications.

  • Leads DBA projects supporting the team lead managing resources and processes to complete assigned work.

  • Partners with various IT staff to resolve issues involving corporate databases and web/client server software applications.

  • Rotates 24x7 on call duty with other DBA staff, responding to database related issues.

    Database Administrator III

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree + 5 years experience in the Information Technology field including working with and managing complex Database configurations / environments required.

  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills enabling creative solutions to business and technical problems.

  • Experience with the complete technical inner-working of an Enterprise Data Base Environment with focus on SQL 2019 and Oracle 19c.

  • Strong Technical Documentation skills.

  • Accepts direction and coaching from peers and leadership.

  • Intermediate Experience in the following database systems preferred: Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Application Express (APEX), SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Developer, TOAD, IBM Workload Scheduler, Actifio Copy Data Manager, Xming, and Jira.

  • Ability to plan and lead small DBA projects.

  • Strong leadership skills and working with little supervision.

  • Ability to prioritize work and exceed deliverable deadlines.

  • Mentoring of DBA I and II staff and the ability to communicate effectively.

  • Understanding of operating systems, storage solutions, networking, security, and database backup solutions.

  • Knowledge and working experience with RDBMS running in a PaaS or IaaS public cloud.

  • Linux and/or Windows Server system administration fundamentals preferred.

  • Advanced Experience with the following database management tools preferred: Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control, Oracle Data Guard, Oracle Application Express, SQL, PL/SQL, SQL Server, Quest SQL Navigator, Tivoli Workload Scheduler, Actifio Copy Data Manager, BMC Remedy Action Request System, and Attachmate Reflection X.


  • Compensation Information
    $93,960-$117,450 (min.- mid.)

    Database Administrator II

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related degree + 2 years experience in the Information Technology field required.

  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills enabling creative solutions to business and technical problems.

  • Experience with the complete technical inner-working of an Enterprise Data Base Environment with focus on SQL 2019 and Oracle 19c.

    $75,600-$94,490 (min.-mid.)
