This posting is for a rotation through multiple positions in various areas within Power Delivery. Candidates may rotate through any of the areas listed below and will spend 3 – 6 months in each rotation, to allow new hires the ability to learn Santee Cooper’s transmission system, day-to-day operations, and network with key personnel. Under close supervision, participants will perform engineering assignments that require knowledge and applications of basic electrical engineering principles. Candidates may be considered for placement into specific areas within Santee Cooper at any time during the rotation program period.
Candidates will be selected at job level (I or II) based upon needs in specific areas and may rotate through the various areas:
Develops project designs for transmission, distribution, industrial, and generating station substation protection systems and support facilities under the limited guidance of an experienced engineer. Assists field personnel with the installation of specified material.
Responsible for providing engineering and technical support to enhance maintenance, inspection, operation, performance, and reliability of the Santee Cooper high voltage transmission system. Responsible for the design of short tap lines, line relocations, switch installations, and various other transmission line projects.
Performs power flow simulations to study the daily and short-term operations of the Santee Cooper transmission system. Performs economic dispatch simulations to determine the daily generation dispatch plan. Studies rain flow and inflow data to provide projections for Santee Cooper lake elevation levels.
Assists with the construction and maintenance of substation equipment such as transmission circuit breakers, power transformers, and system protection and control devices and circuitry.

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited University or College required.Fundamental of Engineering license is preferred.
