  • Responsible for providing comprehensive project management support under the direction of the Project Managers. Performs estimating support, scheduling assistance, financial support and other technical and non-technical assistance on the capital, reimbursable and billable projects managed by Power System Project Management.

  • Essential Job Tasks:
  • Provides Project Managers with financial intelligence and support on their projects. This includes running monthly ORACLE/FIS expenditure reports to track actuals vs budgeted amounts, and analyzing the information to ensure project team members are charging accurately.
  • Assists with providing monthly spending projections and reporting to Management.
  • Monitors overall project expenditure levels and notifies Project Manager if an over-run is anticipated.
  • Provides a complete project analysis at the end of the project covering a wide variety of financial and project-related reports (budgets, schedule, safety, productivity, etc.)

  • Prepares preliminary and/or detailed estimates and cash flows for potential projects.
  • Tracks historical project charges on a wide variety of construction items and maintains a database of costs which can be used for estimating.  Identifies trends. For more detailed estimates, coordinates with other design and construction units towards the preparation of the estimate.

  • Assists Project Managers by utilizing scheduling software (Primavera, MS Project, SureTrak, etc.) to create project schedules, schedule project activities and establish milestones.
  • Maintains existing project schedules by performing routine updates on a regular basis.
  • Takes verbal instruction on project scheduling issues and apply towards the preparation of a schedule revision.
  • Tracks Project Deliverable Milestones and reports progress on a regular basis.

  • Provides general assistance to the Project Managers such as scheduling project meetings, taking notes at project meetings, communicating with team members about project details, preparing presentations, preparing various spreadsheets, and generating various maps/exhibits.
  • Coordinates the approval process for initiating projects, including filling out of forms as well as Oracle Project Approver input.
  • Works with Asset Accounting Dept. to establish the proper project numbers and task numbers.
  • Creates and distributes notifications to the various units that will be working on the project.
  • Initiates and ensures the Environmental Management of Change (MOC) process is properly routed with proper approvals prior to construction.
  • Assists with handling phone calls received from property owners.

  • Associate's Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering and eight years of directly related experience.
  • High School Diploma with additional technical courses and a minimum of ten years directly related experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge in Excel is required.
  • Knowledge of the Primavera scheduling software is preferred.

  • Compensation Information:
    $66,460 - $83,070 (min.-mid.)
