  • Responsible for managing protection system database. Polls power system recording devices, checks oscillography and remotely troubleshoots equipment to ensure correct operation. Responsible for the recording and resetting of targets from remotely-accessible relays. Retrieves and processes all event records from fault recorders and relays. Maintains NERC compliance documentation for PRC and CIP standards. Assist with the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of power system recording devices in substations. Archives all SPC-Studies and Applications event, testing, and settings information. Assists and facilitates other departmental job functions.

  • Essential Job Tasks:
  • Maintains and approve relay calibration test records to comply with NERC PRC and CIP standards.
  • Manages and maintains ENOSERV Powerbase software and database.
  • Retrieves and stores fault recorder and relays event data to assist with fault locations, event analysis, and to ensure compliance with PRC-004.
  • Records target and operation information in TOA and ensure that Trans Tech information is complete.
  • Assists with DME installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting, and periodically poll DME’s to ensure they are functioning properly and to comply with PRC-002.
  • Assists engineers and field crews with CIP related issues and compliance.
  • Assists with various other tasks, such as creating reports, assisting with data request, and audit preparation.

  • Engineering Technician B
  • Bachelor's Degree with no experience, Associate's Degree with three years experience or High School Diploma/GED and five years experience.
  • Must be proficient with computers and software.

  • Compensation Information
    $23.75 - $29.65 (min.-mid.)

    Engineering Technician C
  • Associate's Degree with no experience or High School Diploma/GED and two years experience or Associate's Degree.
  • Must be proficient with computers and software.

  • Compensation Information
    $19.30 - $24.10 (min.-mid.)

    Engineering Technician A
  • Bachelor's Degree and four years experience,  Associate's Degree and six years experience, or High school/GED and twelve years directly related experience.

    Compensation Information
    $29.30 - $36.60 (min.-mid.)
