The CI Coach III is part of the department that leads the corporate culture of continuous improvement. This position ensures that Santee Cooper continuously focuses on delivering operational improvements by evaluating our processes and using best practices for industry excellence. The CI Coach teaches and mentors other CI Coach II, CI Facilitators and CI Project Team Leaders, and provides CI support for management within their lines of business. Internally the CI Coach III drives consistent practices across the company, and is considered a corporate subject matter expert in process mapping, project management, and change leadership.
Essential Job Tasks:
Coaches and facilitates project teams with the guidance of the CI Department using CI/IO methodology to achieve operational improvements with both financial and non-financial benefits. Identifies opportunities for improvement and ensure continuous improvement efforts align with company goals and priorities. Plans and manages successful project execution. Tracks project performance. Coaches and trains CI Facilitators, project leaders & teams about Santee Cooper's CI/IO methodology, how and when to use of CI/IO tools and techniques, including process mapping, data collection and analysis, gap analyses, improvement identification & prioritization, implementation & control plans, and change management. Develops training and materials for CI/IO program. Inspires innovation within Santee Cooper. Researches best practices and benchmarking externally with our peers & competitors. Continues to learn more about the CI discipline and industry innovation related to change. Inspires new idea generation and idea management in all areas of the company. Assists in the development and sustainability of the CI/IO initiative at Santee Cooper. Assists Leadership in developing and implementing the continuous improvement strategy and corporate goals to drive behavior. Develops, deploys, and improves the infrastructure and tools that will make CI successful. Measures and tracks the effectiveness of the program. Informs all levels of employees and management about the benefits and results of CI/IO. Encourages CI thinking and the use of the CI/IO tools in daily operations. Promotes a culture of continuous improvement across the entire company. Acts as a change agent to instill the discipline in all lines of business.

Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and six years experience. Five years of process or operations experience One year of CI related experience. Must have completed CI Wave or Facilitator training. Must have led or facilitated four CI project teams. Green Belt Certification preferred.

Continuous Improvement Coach II
Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field and four years experience or Associate's Degree and eight years experience. Three years of process or operations experience One year of CI related experience. Must have completed CI Wave or Facilitator training. Must have led or facilitated one CI project team. Must have participated on at least three CI project teams. Yellow Belt Certification preferred.
