This posting is for a rotation through multiple positions in various areas within Power Delivery. Candidates may rotate through any of the areas listed below and will spend 3 – 6 months in each rotation.  Candidates will be selected and job level (I, II, or III) determined based upon needs in specific areas.  

Transmission Planning
Assists in supporting System Planning functions through various engineering activities, perform special studies addressing non-recurring problems or situations on the transmission system, respond to requests for technical information from within Santee Cooper as well as from outside agencies and develop and integrate plans for bulk telecommunications systems and SCADA facilities throughout the Santee Cooper electric system.

Design Engineering
Develops project designs for transmission, distribution, industrial, and generating station substation protection systems and support facilities under the limited guidance of an experienced engineer. Assists field personnel with the installation of specified material.

Transmission Maintenance
Responsible for providing engineering and technical support to enhance maintenance, inspection, operation, performance and reliability of the Santee Cooper high voltage transmission system.  Responsible for the design of short tap lines, line relocations, switch installations, and various other transmission line projects.  

System Operations
Studies the daily and short-term operations and develops procedures and guidelines to ensure the safest, most reliable, and most economic operation of the power system and lake system.

Transmission Technical
Assists with the construction and maintenance of substation equipment such as transmission circuit breakers, power transformers, and system protection and control devices and circuitry.



  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college required.

  • Fundamental of Engineering license is preferred.


  • *Will consider Engineer II or Engineer III

    Engineer II
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college with two years of experience required.

  • Fundamental of Engineering license is preferred.


  • Engineer III
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college with five years of experience required.

  • Fundamental of Engineering license is required.

    Salary range:
    Engineer I
    $65,160-$81,440 (min.-mid.)
    Engineer II
    $72,650-$90,810 (min.-mid.)
    Engineer III
    $81,000-$101,250 (min.-mid.)
