Scholarship to attend the Electrical Line Worker program at Trident Technical College, Horry-Georgetown Technical College, Orangeburg-Calhoun Technical College or York Technical College. Students will attend the program full time and will be exposed to the technical curriculum and manual training necessary for success.
At Santee Cooper, Electrical Line Workers install, maintain and repair power lines and equipment in difficult weather conditions and all hours of the day or night.
Participants of this program attend school full time four days per week and work one day per week with a line crew. Participants are only paid for days worked at a rate of $15 per hour. Books, tuition and tools are covered by Santee Cooper. This is a sixteen week program and starts mid to late August.
Candidates must be 18 years of age and be a high school graduate by June 2021, possess a valid driver's license, and must be able to pass a pre-employment physical and background check.
