The primary responsibility of an Engineering Intern in Maintenance is to assist various departments within a large, coal-fired generating station. Assignments will be made based on need within the departments.  

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assisting the Maintenance Engineer with maintenance projects, working with Maintenance Planners to maintain technical library, and assisting E&I technicians with various work orders.

  • Responsible for creating electrical wiring diagrams in AutoCad.

  • Computer data entry may be necessary.

  • The qualified candidate must:

  • have the ability to follow instructions

  • have general knowledge of computers and associated programs such as Excel, Word, and AutoCad

  • In addition the candidate must:
  • Have completed their first year at a 4-year college or 2-year college (transfer program).

  • Be pursuing a degree in Electrical  or Mechanical Engineering at an EAC/ABET accredited school.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Successfully undergo pre-employment physical and drug screen.

  • Housing is not provided

    This position is for a Summer Internship at our Winyah Generating Station located at 661 Steam Plant Drive, Georgetown, South Carolina.  This internship begins May 17, 2021.  Candidate will work 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks.

    Salary Range
    Rising Sophomore  $20.00 per hour
    Rising Junior  $21.00 per hour
    Rising Senior  $22.00 per hour
