The primary responsibility is to assist the Technical Services department within a large, coal-fired generating station.
Additional Responsibilities Assist Performance Engineer with routine equipment testing on air pre-heaters, coal pulverizers and pumps. Assists with performance test data entry and reporting. Assists Project Engineer in planning and administration of capital improvement projects. Assists CEMS coordinators with stack testing, sampling, and record keeping. Updates process and equipment drawings. Files drawings and other reports.
The qualified candidate must:
have the ability to follow instructions
capable of learning how to operate various test equipment
required to enter confined spaces
work at elevations above and below grade
In addition the candidate must:
Have completed their first year at a 4-year college or 2-year college (transfer program).
Be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering at an EAC/ABET accredited school.
Must have a valid driver's license.
Successfully undergo pre-employment physical and drug screen.
Housing is not provided
This position is for a Summer Internship at our Winyah Generating Station located at 661 Steam Plant Drive, Georgetown, South Carolina. This internship begins May 13, 2019. Candidate will work 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks.
