The primary responsibility is to assist the Technical Services department within a large, coal-fired generating station.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Assist Performance Engineer with routine equipment testing on air pre-heaters, coal pulverizers and pumps.
  • Assists with performance test data entry and reporting.
  • Assists Project Engineer in planning and administration of capital improvement projects.
  • Assists CEMS coordinators with stack testing, sampling, and record keeping.
  • Updates process and equipment drawings.
  • Files drawings and other reports.


  • The qualified candidate must:

  • have the ability to follow instructions

  • capable of learning how to operate various test equipment

  • filing

  • required to enter confined spaces

  • work at elevations above and below grade


  • In addition the candidate must:
  • Have completed their first year at a 4-year college or 2-year college (transfer program).

  • Be pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering at an EAC/ABET accredited school.

  • Must have a valid driver's license.

  • Successfully undergo pre-employment physical and drug screen.

    This position is for a Summer Internship at our Winyah Generating Station located at 661 Steam Plant Drive, Georgetown, South Carolina.  This internship begins May 13, 2019.  Candidate will work 40 hours per week for a period of 10-12 weeks.

    Salary Range
    Rising Sophomore  $20.00 per hour
    Rising Junior  $21.00 per hour
    Rising Senior  $22.00 per hour
