  • Responsible for providing environmental engineering expertise throughout the company related to state and federal regulation of and pertaining to the Clean Air Act (CAA).
  • Provides corporate-wide services to assist Santee Cooper in maintaining environmental compliance with air permits and regulations.
  • Retains and directs consultants and/or contract testing firms for the completion of environmental projects, permitting, and testing programs.
  • May be required by management to lead or participate in testing of emission sources using EPA or other approved test methods and procedures.
  • Completes projects with minimal supervision.
  • Supervises others in the completion of environmental projects, as needed.


  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college and five years related experience is required.
  • FE certification is required and PE certification is preferred.
  • May be required to wear a respirator:  Self-Contained breathing app., Air Supplied, Chemical Cartridge, and/or Dust Mask.
  • Must be able to operate light equipment and be able to enter confined spaces.
  • Must be able to operate motor vehicle and have a valid drivers license.

    Sr. Engineer
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college and eight years related experience is required.

  • Must have PE License and Registration required by the South Carolina State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.


  • Engineer II
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or Civil Engineering from an EAC/ABET accredited university or college and two years related experience is required.
  • FE certification preferred.

    Salary range:

    Sr. Engineer
    85,950-107,430 (min-mid)
    Engineer III
    77,090-96,360 (min-mid)
    Engineer II
    69,140-86,420 (min-mid)
