  • Operates and maintains heavy equipment to manage vegetation on Santee Cooper's high voltage transmission system, along with other land management activities.


  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with five years experience in similar utility reclearing work.
  • A comparable combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Requires experience in operating Light Equipment and Heavy Equipment.
  • Must possess a Commercial "Class A" drivers License.
  • Must have the ability to obtain a hazardous material endorsement within three months of employment.
  • If deemed necessary by Supervision must be able to obtain a Herbicide/Pesticide license within six months notice.
  • Must be willing to work out of town 40% annually.


  • *Will consider Equipment Operator II
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with direct experience in similar utility reclearing work.
  • Requires three years' experience in operating Light Equipment and Heavy Equipment.
  • A comparable combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Must possess a Commercial "Class A" Drivers License or have the ability to obtain one within one year, along with a hazardous materials endorsement.
  • If deemed necessary by Supervision must be able to obtain a Herbicide/Pesticide license within six months notice.

    Salary range:

    Equipment Operator III
    22.10-27.60 (min-mid)
    Equipment Operator II
    16.20-20.20 (min-mid)
