Position Description:
Singer Steel, part of the Ryerson family of companies, has an opportunity for a Service Center Operator position. As a Service Center Operator you are responsible for daily machine operation to produce parts to customer specifications. Conducting daily prestart inspections on all required equipment/machine and identify any issues.

This position is 2nd shift. The hours for this position are Monday- Friday from 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Truck loading/unloading and proper completion of paperwork for shipping/receiving
• Pulling and staging feedstock for production orders
• Ensuring size, material finish, and accuracy of the finished goods
• Breaking down bulk bundles for customer specific orders
• Packaging of material to customer requirements
• Staging of material for shipping
• Operating a crane, forklift or side loader to move material as needed
• Working in a safe manner as outlined during training and use prescribed safety equipment including PPE
• All other duties as assigned or duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice
Position Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Some experience in skilled machine operator
• Regular attendance, including being on time and ready to work at assigned start time
• Ability to work assigned overtime, at times with short notice
• Ability to navigate on a computer to find information, enter information when prompted and print as necessary
• Successfully pass the Ramsay Corporation Combined Basic Skills Assessment which evaluates your reading, math, inspection & measurement, and process monitoring & problem-solving skills
