Position Description:
Ryerson has an opportunity for an Outside Sales Representatives. As an Outside Sales Representatives, you are responsible for maintaining and growing our business with established customers and growing transactional business from current or not recently sold assigned customers in the Northern California marketplace

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Quickly builds strong relationships with contacts at all levels across a variety of functions within customer organizations but especially with purchasing decision makers; develops customer trust and confidence in Ryerson and its representatives
• Succeeds by understanding the goals and concepts of our business and incorporating these goals daily to achieve sales and profitability targets
• Works closely with our inside sales team, credit center, inventory managers, and other departments within the company to creatively achieve both company and customer objectives
• Keeps customers informed about industry and economic trends and Ryerson’s ability to assist customers in adapting to change while promoting Ryerson E-commerce capabilities and other strategic initiatives
• Understands and monitors the competitive environment and provides market intelligence to sales management to help shape service center sales strategies, price levels and working capital decisions
• Increases revenue from assigned customers by selling value added services and programs; grows new business by increasing sales through profitable transactional growth
• Manages customer accounts including implementation of memorandums of understanding, margin analysis, competitive market information and quality improvement initiatives
• Consistently manages daily call planning and execution

Salary: $71,907.93-86,289.52, starting salary higher than $71,907.93 is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or a related field of study) or related experience
• Previous sales experience in metals service center industry or similar industrial sales background / industry
• Proficiency with MS Office a must, SAP and Salesforce.com experience highly desired
• Strong business acumen with excellent customer service, interpersonal and both oral, and written communication skills; persuasive negotiation skills
• Effective problem-solving/conflict resolution skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Highly motivated with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships quickly
• Aggressive, competitive, and self-motivated attitude is essential
• Keen attention to detail with a strong aptitude for math
