This position will work rotating 8 and 12 hour shifts with a current schedule of 32 to 40+ hours per week. This entry level operator position is responsible for assisting in all aspects of producing polyester resins while working in a safe and clean manner. These functions include, but are not limited to, getting raw materials required for production, adding raw materials into production vessels, loading finished products into tank trucks and drums, completing data entry of inventory movements and performing general housekeeping tasks. The majority of work takes place outside, therefore working in hot, cold and wet weather is often required. All required personal protective equipment such as hard hat, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, uniforms and respirators will be provided by the Company.
The selected candidate must pass a 90 day probationary period during which time they must successfully demonstrate their work performance regarding safety, productivity, quality and dependability in order to secure permanent full time employment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Load finished goods into tank truck and drums. (55%)
Adding raw materials into production tanks. (15%)
Pull and stage raw materials. (15%)
SAP data entry and other computer tasks. (5%)
Safety Training. (5%)
Assist in housekeeping requirements of the site. (5%)
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proficient in basic computer skills (MS Office programs, especially Outlook and Excel, data entry); Able to: be forklift and Ottawa Tractor Driver Certified; lift 50 lbs. repetitively and push 2,000 lbs. supersacks using a hoist or dolly; use personal protective equipment as required by the task, including a full face respirator, for which safety regulations require having no facial hair; work in an outside environment year-round; climb flights of stairs multiple times per day; climb ladders; use hand-held tools; physical ability and flexibility to work 12 hour and rotating shifts; Must be able to comprehend, speak and write English; Math skills are required including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division; Prior manufacturing experience is helpful, however greater emphasis in hiring will be placed on the candidate’s ability to demonstrate: a strong work ethic, dependability; self motivation; attention to accuracy; commitment to safety; desire to enter the workforce from an entry level position with the ability to learn and advance in responsibilities and positions.
High School Diploma or GED required.
