- As a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at QIAGEN Aarhus you will join a team that develops the world’s leading bioinformatics software solutions. The solutions are used worldwide by clinicians and researchers in pharmaceutical, biotech, and academic segments. You will help develop software with a strong focus on Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) and provide our customers with a versatile, scalable and user-friendly platform for analyzing their data.

- In your daily work you will develop state of the art NGS analysis algorithms and software for genomics and transcriptomics-related applications. Design and perform validation of bioinformatics algorithms and pipelines. Thoroughly document and communicate the tool development process, the analysis chain used, and the validation measures for results obtained.  
- You will work on inter- disciplinary collaborative projects involving multiple QIAGEN sites. This will require regular interactions with international team members with various domain expertise.



- Master or Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science or related discipline.
- Must have experience with bioinformatics algorithm development.
- Experience with statistics is a strong advantage.
- Able to bridge the gap between biology and software development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with software development.
- Experience with Java, C/C++ or similar programming language is an advantage.



- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- A good team player.
- Strong communication skills.
- Fast learner of new technologies.
- Fluent in English.
