The Department of Neurology is looking for a Nurse Leader to oversee their practice specializing in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). In this role a successful candidate will assume the duties in managing the clinical staff. The following is a core list of responsibilities:
The Senior Clinical Manager is responsible for the consistent and comprehensive patient care delivery in the ambulatory practice setting and is responsible for maintaining the highest level of patient/customer satisfaction, education, research initiatives and patient confidentiality. The Senior Clinical Manager demonstrates that employee and partner satisfaction is a precursor to patient satisfaction and is to balance and achieve all three: Patient, Employee and Partner Satisfaction.
The Senior Clinical Manager is also responsible for continually assessing the clinical care team to ensure quality, compliance with governmental agencies and patient access.
Typical scope for this role is:
•15+ = # of staff directly and indirectly managed
•20,000+ = # of budgeted annual visits
•Complexity Factors (may involve a few of the following factors of practice complexity): multiple practice locations, high practice/facility square footage, service line oversight, coordination of inpatient services, coordination of care across several departments/entities, academic involvement (research initiatives, resident program), special clinical programs, multiple clinical specialties, complex regulatory requirements, management of external partnerships/collaborations.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current nursing licensure in the Commonwealth of
Minimum BSN degree required
A minimum of 7+ years of nursing experience required.
A minimum of 5 years of management is required.
Degrees may be considered in lieu of total experience
In 2014, the National MS Society designated the Penn MS Center as a National MS Comprehensive Care Center. This achievement recognizes the ability of the Penn MS Center to provide comprehensive, state-of-the-art care to patients with MS, while also contributing to important research advances.
As a multispecialty program, our team of physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, pharmacists, physical and occupational therapists, and social workers collaborate with experts across multiple disciplines to provide diagnosis, care and management of MS and associated disorders. The Penn Comprehensive MS Center also works with the local chapters of the National MS Society and Multiple Sclerosis Association of America to assure the highest level of care for our patients.
