This position is looking for an PA to practice at our Perelman Center for Advanced Medicine (PCAM) and Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP) OR
All Physician Assistants (PA) function under the guidelines as designed by the University of Pennsylvania Medical Center medical staff guidelines and are credentialed through that body. The PA will be held accountable through a formal job description, through the delineation of privileges, and through their agreement with their collaborating/supervising physician who has initiated a Collaborative Practice Agreement. All clinical work hours and associated requirements will be defined and managed under the direction of the hiring manager and collaborating /supervising physician or division designee, and within the Human Resource guidelines.
This position has a dual reporting structure. The PA will report to the Collaborating/Supervising Physician and Clinical Manager of Urology who will be responsible for the administrative oversight of the position as it pertains to the Department of Surgery/Division of Urology, as well as, implementation/oversight of selected hospital CEQI indicators that are chosen for each clinical department. The Human Resource issues relating to daily job performance will be the responsibility of the Clinical Manager who in collaboration with the collaborating/supervising physician will be responsible for direct oversight of the clinical role and guide orientation to the clinical unit and ongoing assessment of the clinical skills. The identified collaborating/supervising physician will evaluate the PA's Clinical Skills and Competence as part of their annual performance review.
License to practice as a Physician’s Assistant in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Master’s degree obtained from educational programs accredited by the American Medical Association’s CAHEA, the CAAHEP, ARC-PA or a successor organization, and certification as a Physician’s Assistant.
Must maintain BLS & ACLS certification.
Prior to employment, the Physician’s Assistant must be reviewed by the Credentials Committee and approved by the Medical Board.
